Reflections of Downlighting
One of the world's largest manufacturers
of ALZAK lighting reflectors has joined the Bill Brown
Sales factory line-up. Reflek Corporation, a family-owned
metal forming, fabrication, and finishing OEM, is working
in conjunction with BBS to bring customers the highest quality
reflectors with the shortest lead times available in the industry.
CNC Precision
Reflek's
complete in-house machine shop, including a tool and die department,
uses "state-of-the-art" computer controlled CNC
lathes and milling centers to process highly engineered parts.
The computerized spinning and hydroform machines ensure that
the reflectors made by Reflek are less apt to contain pits,
spin lines and other imperfections. Used to form reflectors
for indoor& outdoor, down, task and high/low bay areas
of lighting, the hydroform method can also accomplish up to
90 percent more of the forming required in spun shapes, and
costs up to 50 percent less than convention press tooling.
This, in turn, saves customers time and money.
5-Axis Laser / Prototyping
Reflek is one of the few companies in the country that offers
the benefits of an in-house 5-axis laser cutting to its customers.
The 5-axis laser can handle low, medium or high volume jobs
where secondary tooling is an issue, and allows them to complete
a project from start to finish in a very short amount of time
without the long waiting period for hard tooling. Even with
custom jobs, this aggressive prototype program cuts down on
upfront capital expenditures and long lead times even for
first article samples.
Polishing and Anodizing
You
know you're getting the best reflection with Reflek reflectors
because they go through a precise polishing CNC machine process
that ends with experienced hand buffers, giving each individual
reflector a jewel-like finish. How many other reflector manufacturers
can say that?
Once specular, the reflectors go through a
finishing process in Reflek's fully licensed Alzak anodizing
facility. Oil and grease is removed, and phosphoric/nitric
solution is used to further smooth out peaks and valleys,
increasing specularity even more. Once they are rinsed and
dyed to the customer's specified color, the parts are sealed
to ensure consistent color and to protect the anodized finish.
Paint and Assembly
Before
being sent to shipping, reflectors can be painted and assembled
per customer request. Sub-assembly is also available for parts
that require springs, brackets or installation of rings using
a multitude of riveting machines and gluing stations to perform
these functions, as well as sub-assembling pre-anodized coilzak
and miro fabricated reflectors.
Applications:
Commercial and residential downlighting
Unbeatable Combinations:
Combine Reflek's reflectors with Tripar's stamped and drawn
downlight housings and A.L.P.'s Triboro brand lampholders
for a complete downlight package. Contact your BBS representative
for more information.
